This broadcast series, hosted by Jim Cunningham, presents concerts by the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra recorded at Heinz Hall for the Performing Arts. Manfred Honeck has served as music director since the 2008-2009 season. The PSO has been heard on the air since radio began in Pittsburgh with early broadcasts on Pittsburgh's KDKA in the 1920s. Its first network broadcasts appeared on NBC in 1936.
